Labor Day is the celebration of the achievements of workers across the world. It usually is celebrated in most countries in the world with International Workers Day on May first, also called May Day. It has its origins in the labour movement that championed the 8 hour day. 8 hours for work, 8 hours for sleep, and 8 hours for recreation.

Labour day is usually a holiday in most countries. Though most countries in the world celebrate labour day on May 1st , some countries like the United States its celebrated on the first Monday of September. Being a holiday, labour day and the labour day weekend is usually used by retail and especially e-commerce merchants to run promotions and increase sales.
