Wanna do the same on your Shopify Store?

Backordering

1. Go to your Shopify Admin and edit the code under product.liquid.

2. Add in a backorder bottom and allow customers to continue purchasing even when out of stock in your Shopify settings.

{%- if product.selected_or_first_available_variant.available -%}
{{ 'products.product.add_to_cart' | t }}
{%- else -%}
{{ 'products.product.sold_out' | t }}
{%- endif -%}

Back in Stock Alerts

To do backordering, your store's inventory management has to be A-game. Back in Stock Alerts is the easier option that is more commonly practiced in online stores.

1. Install Konigle on your Shopify store.

2. Under improve conversions strategy, implement ‘Send back in stock alerts’ tactic.

In conclusion, by implementing backordering, it can increase the value of the product in customers’ eyes. After all, if your product is worth it, they'll be happy to wait. So don't miss out on potential sales and customer loyalty – consider implementing backorders for your out-of-stock items!
